In Guatemala, refractive errors – such as nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism – are the main cause of visual impairment, especially among children living in poverty. Through our Prevention of Blindness and Deafness Program, we want to change this reality by donating 100 corrective lenses to children who need them to be able to study, play and develop to their full potential. Thanks to our own optical laboratory, we can provide each pair of glasses for only Q250.00, giving them to children whose visual acuity is already at a level that is considered moderate visual impairment or worse. With your support, we can help them see the world around them clearly and open up new opportunities for them.
Each contribution will be used exclusively for the purchase of supplies for the manufacture of corrective lenses based on the children's prescriptions.
The glasses will be given to children identified through the Prevention of Blindness and Deafness Program during community days.
