Give light to a life: Donate for cataract surgery

Cataracts are the main cause of blindness in Guatemala. Even though surgery can restore vision, thousands of people continue to live with visual impairment because they cannot complete the procedure.

With your help, we can change this. Our goal is to reduce the amount necessary to finance a completely free cataract surgery for a person living in extreme poverty.

How Will Your Donation Be Used?

Destination of resources

Each contribution will be used exclusively to cover the costs of the campaign, including evaluations, inputs and follow-up after the process if necessary.

Transparency and commitment

We select the beneficiary based on their socioeconomic status and, at the end of the process, we will share their story with all donors, so you can see the direct impact of your support.

All donations made through our platform are transferred directly to the official accounts of the Benemérito Comité Pro-Ciegos y Sordos de Guatemala, without intermediaries. Additionally, your contribution is immediately added to the total raised for the campaign. At the end of each campaign, we send a report to all donors with the results and impact achieved.
Yes, you can donate from anywhere in the world. Our platform allows you to choose between Guatemalan Quetzales (GTQ) or U.S. Dollars (USD), and we accept international credit and debit cards.

Yes. In the weeks following your donation, you will receive an authorized donation receipt issued by the Superintendency of Tax Administration of Guatemala (SAT).
